Saniplus – 1/2 HP Macerating Pump System for Full Bathroom Installations (Toilet included)

The Saniplus is a 1/2-horsepower pump system engineered for the installation of a full bathroom in areas located up to 15 feet beneath the main sewer line or as far as 150 feet away from a soil stack. It integrates a maceration system capable of handling toilet paper and human waste in residential applications. The macerator blade is constructed from hardened stainless steel, designed for durability and long-term performance without the need for maintenance or replacement.

Advanced Internal Operation

The system's interior includes a pressure chamber that governs the start and stop function, along with a motor that powers the stainless steel blades and the pumping mechanism. Upon flushing, incoming water activates a microswitch in the pressure chamber, which then starts the motor. Encased in a permanently sealed, oil-filled enclosure, the motor drives both the macerator and impeller via a shared spindle, minimizing mechanical complexity.

Wastewater and organic matter are finely ground as the macerator blades rotate at 3600 RPM. Reduced solids are propelled through a grill and collected in the chamber, where the impeller mounted beneath the motor discharges the slurry. The pump is capable of lifting effluent up to 15 feet vertically or 150 feet horizontally (gravity-assisted). The system shuts off automatically when the water level drops, readying the unit for the next cycle. Each operation typically takes 10 to 12 seconds, resulting in low power consumption.

Multiple Fixture Compatibility

In addition to toilet waste, the Saniplus can also process gray water from several bathroom fixtures including a sink, bathtub, shower, and urinal. For bathtub or shower installations, a raised base of 2” x 6” (minimum) or 2” x 8” (recommended) must be built to accommodate a P-trap and to maintain a 1/4” per foot slope for gravity flow to the unit.

Gray water can be routed into the Saniplus through the two 2-inch side inlets. One or both can be utilized depending on the plumbing configuration. The discharge elbow on top can be rotated to the left, right, or rear to match installation needs. A pre-installed non-return valve on the elbow prevents any reverse flow into the system.

Ventilation and Safety Features

The unit includes a vent port on the lid, which must be connected to a compliant two-way air vent system as per plumbing regulations. Mechanical vents and one-way air admittance valves are not acceptable. For additional safety, it is recommended that the pump be wired to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit.

Quiet Performance and Vibration Dampening

The Saniplus features an updated design that includes vibration absorbers to minimize operational noise. These enhancements significantly reduce sound transmission through structural surfaces, lowering the overall noise level by up to 10 decibels.

Toilet Compatibility and System Components

This unit must be paired with a Saniflo rear-discharge toilet, which uses significantly less water than standard models. Note that these toilets are designed exclusively for use with Saniflo macerating systems. Required components for a complete system include:

Toilet bowl with seat (Model 083 or 087)

Toilet tank (Model 005)

Macerating pump unit (Model 002)

An optional extension pipe (Model 030) is available for installations behind walls. Please note that cabinets, bathtubs, and showers are not included with this product.

Certifications and Standards

The Saniplus meets regulatory standards in both the U.S. and Canada:

United States: CSA Certified & IAPMO (UPC) listed – ASME A112.3.4

Canada: CSA B45.9 Macerating Standard
