The Saniaccess 3 is a 1/2 HP macerating pump system designed to facilitate the installation of a complete bathroom as far as 15 feet below the main sewer line or 150 feet from a soil stack. Featuring a durable stainless steel blade system, it processes human waste and toilet paper in residential environments without requiring maintenance or blade replacement.
Internally, the unit includes a pressure chamber that activates and deactivates the motor, which powers both the macerator and pump. Upon flushing, incoming water triggers a micro switch within the chamber, starting the motor. Housed in an oil-filled, permanently sealed enclosure, the motor operates a common spindle that turns both the impeller and macerator blades at 3600 RPM. This process transforms waste into a slurry, which is then propelled through a grill and ejected via the impeller pump. The pump handles vertical discharge up to 15 feet and horizontal discharge up to 150 feet (with appropriate gravity fall). A standard cycle runs for about 10–12 seconds, depending on the installation’s discharge layout.
The Saniaccess 3 can also manage gray water drainage from fixtures such as sinks, bathtubs, showers, and urinals. For bathtubs and showers, a base of at least 2" x 6" (preferably 2” x 8”) must be constructed to accommodate a P-trap and maintain the required 1/4” per foot gravity slope toward the pump.
Gray water enters through two 2-inch inlets located on either side of the pump housing. Both or either inlet can be used. The discharge elbow at the top can rotate to the left, right, or rear depending on plumbing needs. A factory-installed non-return valve prevents backflow into the system.
The unit includes a vent outlet on top and must connect to a two-way air vent, as mandated by plumbing codes. Mechanical or air admittance vents are not approved since they allow one-way air movement. For safety, connection to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit is highly recommended.
Maintenance is simplified through two dedicated service panels. One gives access to the electrical system and sensor mechanism, while the other allows inspection and cleaning around the macerator blade basket for removing objects that may have been unintentionally flushed.
This model is designed to function with a rear-discharge toilet and uses significantly less water than conventional toilets. Note that the toilet is only compatible with Saniflo macerating systems.
The Saniaccess 3 meets both American and Canadian certification standards. It is CSA Certified and IAPMO (UPC) listed under ASME A112.3.4 and CSA B45.9.
The system components can be purchased separately, but optimal operation requires the following: Toilet bowl (model 083 or 087), toilet tank (model 005), and the macerating unit (model 082). An optional 18” extension pipe (model 030) is also available for installations behind a wall.
