Sanishower – Compact Drain Pump for Showers and Residential Fixtures
The Sanishower is a compact, medium-duty drain pump designed to handle gray water from a variety of residential fixtures. Capable of discharging effluent up to 12 feet vertically or 100 feet horizontally, the unit offers a reliable solution for installations under raised shower bases, vanities, or inside kitchen cabinets.
Designed for Versatility and Efficiency
Compact and easy to install, the Sanishower is ideal for tight-space applications, including retrofits and remodels. Its internal components include a pressure chamber and a micro switch that controls a motor sealed for life in an oil-filled enclosure. A spindle/shaft drives the impeller, minimizing moving parts and ensuring dependable long-term performance.
The unit activates automatically when water enters, pumps the effluent to the sanitary line, and then shuts off once the chamber empties. Each cycle lasts just 2 to 10 seconds, depending on piping configuration—keeping energy consumption low.
Compatible Fixtures
In addition to handling water from bathroom and kitchen sinks, the Sanishower also accepts wastewater from:
Showers (requires a raised base made from 2” x 6” framing to accommodate a P-trap and proper slope)
Urinals
Specialty uses such as OEM-installed pedicure chairs
Thanks to its quiet operation and compact footprint, the Sanishower is a favorite among pedicure chair manufacturers and OEMs.
Flexible Installation Features
The unit includes a 360-degree rotating discharge elbow to accommodate various installation layouts. A pre-installed non-return valve prevents backflow into the system, ensuring clean and reliable performance.
Vent and Electrical Requirements
A vent output on the top of the unit must be connected to a two-way air vent, as required by plumbing codes. Mechanical vents and one-way air admittance valves are not permitted. For safety, the Sanishower should be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit.
Certifications
The Sanishower complies with North American safety and performance standards:
U.S.: UL 778 Electrical Standard
Canada: CSA C22.2 Electrical Standard
