Saniswift – Compact Gray Water Drain Pump for Residential Applications
The Saniswift is a versatile, space-saving drain pump designed to efficiently move gray water from multiple household fixtures. Ideal for residential use, this powerful yet economical unit can discharge wastewater up to 14 feet vertically or 140 feet horizontally, making it the perfect solution for installations in tight or unconventional spaces.
Internal Design and Operation
Inside the Saniswift is a pressure switch and circuit board assembly that automatically starts and stops the motor based on water level. Once gray water enters the unit, the pressure switch triggers the sealed motor, which is housed in an oil-filled enclosure to ensure long-lasting performance. A spindle/shaft drives the impeller, and the design keeps moving parts to a minimum for maximum durability and low maintenance.
The system operates in cycles as short as 2 to 10 seconds depending on the discharge line setup, resulting in low energy consumption.
Multi-Fixture Compatibility
In addition to kitchen or bathroom sinks, the Saniswift can handle gray water from:
Laundry sinks
Showers (installed over a raised base made from 2” x 6” or 2” x 8” framing to allow proper gravity flow and P-trap)
Urinals
Washing machines (via indirect connection such as a laundry sink)
Installation and Venting
The pump includes two 1.5" side inlets and one top inlet for flexible fixture connections. A built-in non-return valve on the discharge rubber connector prevents backflow into the unit. The Saniswift is also equipped with a vent connection on the lid and must be connected to a two-way air vent, in accordance with plumbing codes.
Safety and Compliance
For electrical safety, it is highly recommended that the Saniswift be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit. This compact unit, with its modern rounded design, fits neatly into confined spaces such as under cabinets or behind walls.
Certifications
The Saniswift complies with North American electrical and plumbing standards:
U.S.: UL 778 Electrical Standard
Canada: CSA C22.2 Electrical Standard
